Things that are pyramid shaped

A pyramid is a structure where the external faces are triangular and converge at apoint. The base of a pyramid is able toward be trilateral, quadrilateral, or some polygon figure, meaning that pyramids have at least three external faces (at least four faces include the base). The square pyramid, through square base and four triangular external faces, is a general side.

Apyramid's plan, through the greater part of the weight earlier to the ground, means that less material upper on the pyramid will be pushing down as of above: this sharing of weight allowable early on civilizationto create stable monumental structure.

The Surface Area of the things that are Pyramid shaped:

               1/2 × Perimeter × Side Length + Base Area

The Volume of the things that are Pyramid shaped:

               1/3 × [Base Area] × Height

Area of Pyramid shaped:

Ex:1 Establish the Surface area of the rectangular pyramid whose base area is 4 m and side length is 3 m and perimeter is 5 m.

Sol:

Surface area of the pyramid = ½ * B* l * P

                                                     = 1/2 * 4 * 3 * 5

                                                     = 30 m2

Ex:2 Establish the Surface area of the square based pyramid whose base area is 8 cm and side length 2 cm and perimeter is 8 cm.

Sol:

Surface area of the pyramid = ½ * B* l * P

                                                     = 1/2 * 8 * 2 * 8

                                                     = 1/2 * 128

                                                     = 64 cm2

Ex:3 Establish the Surface area of the pentagonal based pyramid whose base area is 12 cm and side length is 5 cm and perimeter is 10 cm.

Sol:

             Surface area of the pyramid = ½ * B* l * P

                                                      = ½ * 12 * 5 * 10

                                                      = 300 cm2

Volume of Pyramid shaped:

Ex:1

Establish the volume of the rectangular pyramid whose base area is 6 cm and height is 8 cm.

Sol:

            Volume of the pyramid = 1/3* B*h

                                             = 1/3 * 6 * 8

                                             = 1/3 * 48

                                             = 48/3

                                             = 16 cm3

Ex:2 Establish the volume of the square based pyramid whose base area is 9 cm and height is 7 cm.

Sol:

            Volume of the pyramid = 1/3* B*h

                                             = 1/3 * 9 * 7

                                             = 1/3 * 63

                                             = 63/3

                                             = 21 cm3

Ex:3 Establish the volume of the pentagonal based pyramid whose base area is 18 cm and height is 9 cm.

Sol:

          Volume of the pyramid = 1/3* B*h

                                           = 1/3 * 18 * 9

                                           = 1/3 * 162

                                           = 162/3

                                           = 54 cm3
